Ravenhall
Correctional Centre:

Ravenhall Correctional Centre is Victoria’s largest correctional centre and is a positive model for rehabilitation and reintegration focused centres of the future with unprecedented levels of pre- and post-release support to prisoners.

Commencing operations in late 2017, Ravenhall boasts a highly innovative design capable of accommodating and managing a diverse population of prisoners and ensuring each has access to the programs and services they need to reduce their risk of reoffending.

GEO’s contract contains a ‘payment by results’ element, based on improved reintegration outcomes and associated reductions in reoffending. Ravenhall’s significant focus on rehabilitation and reintegration is evident with over 100 evidence based programs addressing a range of risks and needs in addition to a focus on education and vocational training and post-release employment.

An alliance of community partners is integrated within the centre contributing to case management, program delivery and post-release outcomes. A unique and significant aspect of the Ravenhall model is the focus on post-release services.

Through GEO’s Continuum of Care model, men exiting Ravenhall can continue to receive services post-release at the correctional centre’s community-based reintegration centre.

A GEO-led Consortium – comprising of GEO, John Holland, Honeywell, and Capella Capital – were responsible for the design, construction, financing of this industry-leading centre along with the development of the centre’s maintenance and operational strategy.
